Privacy Policy

What this covers

This policy explains what information Rovr handles when you use the app to find bars, claim promotions, check in, track a night and share a recap.

Information you give us

  • Account details: email address and password used to sign in, or the Google or Apple account you choose to sign in with.
  • Profile details: display name, username, favourite drink, vibe and an optional profile photo.
  • Night activity: venues you check in to, drinks you add, photos and notes you attach, and recaps you create or share.
  • Preferences: your selected city, search filters, units and notification settings.

Location information

With your permission, the app uses your device location to show nearby venues and, while you have a night running, to record the route between your check-ins. Tracking only happens when you start a night and stops when you end it or turn it off.

If you do not grant location access, Rovr falls back to an approximate city so you can still browse venues.

Information collected automatically

Like most web apps, technical information such as your device type, browser, and error or request logs is processed so the app can load, stay secure and be debugged.

How the information is used

  • To run the features you ask for: search, check-ins, night tracking, recaps and sharing.
  • To keep your account, preferences and night history available across sessions.
  • To fix problems, prevent abuse and improve how the app works.

Third parties we rely on

Venue names, photos, ratings, hours, maps and walking routes are provided by Google Maps Platform, so the searches and map views you make involve requests to Google. Event listings may come from public event sources.

Accounts, stored data and email delivery run on our hosting and backend providers, who process this information on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing with other people

Your night recaps and check-ins are private unless you choose to share them. Sharing options let you decide whether the map, venues or route are included in what other people can see.

Your controls

  • Edit or remove profile details in Settings.
  • Turn location permission off in your browser or device settings at any time.
  • Stop night tracking whenever you want, and delete individual nights or check-ins.
  • Reset saved city and search preferences from Settings.
  • Delete your account, which removes your profile and night history.

Keeping information

Account, night and preference data is kept while your account is active so your history stays available, and is removed when you delete the relevant item or your account.

Children

Rovr is not intended for people under the legal drinking age in their location and is not directed at children.

Changes and contact
